A Walk through Sustainable Gouda

In the charming, historic streets of Gouda more and more initiatives aimed at making the town a little more sustainable and greener are popping up. Every section of this route exudes this history and sustainability. You will come across numerous ‘green’ and fairtrade entrepreneurs and shops, so go inside if possible. For a delicious piece of fairtrade chocolate, a belt made out of an old bike tyre or a vegan meal. Go at your own pace and experience sustainable Gouda your way!

Please note: This walking route is not a round tour. From the point where you end, you will have to find your own way (directly or indirectly) back to your starting point. Bear in mind that the shops have different opening hours (which might not always be as you would expect). Also make sure you check out the opening hours at GOUDasfalt before taking the ferry.
